Long Beach Restaurant Recommendations

Fuego - It wasn't just the 5 star reviews of the food that drew us to Fuego. The atmosphere was incredible too. This restaurant is actually part of Hotel Maya, a great hotel option in Long Beach. It overlooks the water and the historical Queen Mary. We went here for dinner and decided to try the menu tapas style. We ordered the Fuego Margaritas (of course), Choriqueso, Maya Beef Quesadilla (pictured above), chips & salsa, guacamole, Shaved Street Corn, Grilled Lamb Chops, and the Mayan Legend for dessert.

James Republic - We tried this place for breakfast! I loved our waitress, a fellow photographer who completely understood why I was rearranging the table to get the perfect photo. Mom and I ordered the Daily Bread with butter and house made jam, a Lavender Latte, orange juice, the Farm Egg Cali Scramble and the Pork Belly Huevos Rancheros.

Pig Pen Delicacy - What's cool about Pig Pen is that it's located in a food hall called SteelCraft. We were tempted by the other restaurants but not enough to give up the experience of trying their famous Mac Daddy Burger. As you can see in the picture, this is no ordinary burger. It's a beef burger sandwiched between two mac & cheese buns...what's not to love about that? They also add candied bacon, American cheese, and BBQ sauce, because more is more.

The Attic - What a find! We loved everything about this place. I was adamant about coming here because of their Bloody Mary's. I mean, can you blame me? It comes with a mini burger! To start, we ordered the appetizer sampler which included mac & cheese topped with flaming hot Cheetos (don't knock it until you try it...it was so good we tried to recreate it when we got home), fried green tomato caprese, a crab cake, and deviled eggs. For the main event we ordered the FGT Benedict and the Crème Brûlée French Toast.  So much yum!
