Toffee Crisps

These easy to make sweet treats are better than candy! Yeah...I said it...💁 I'm ashamed to say I've eaten at least half a batch in one sitting. If you can resist the urge to devour these, they would make great Christmas gifts.

Toffee Crisps
12 whole graham crackers
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
2. Arrange graham crackers side by side on a cookie sheet.
3. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and vanilla. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a boil. Continue boiling 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
4. Remove saucepan from heat and immediately pour mixture evenly over graham crackers.
5. Bake 10-12 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned. I like to throw the almonds in the oven to toast during this time too.
6. Remove everything from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow the chocolate to soften then spread evenly over baked graham crackers.
7. Sprinkle slivered almonds over chocolate.
8. Cool completely then refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Break or cut into pieces.
