Cold Brew Protein Shake

Life update: I'm in the middle of a complete health overhaul! What does that mean exactly? Well, a couple of things...

Number one, I've started exercising again. I've been walking 3 - 5 miles a day for 4 - 5 days a week and it feels amazing! I have more energy now walking all that distance than I did sitting around scrolling Instagram after work. My boyfriend jokes that I'm finally putting all that Lululemon I've bought to work! Ha!

The second change I've made has been the hardest because I've completely cut sugar and processed foods from my diet as well as significantly reduced the amount of carbs I'm eating. As a sugar-holic, this has been rough - to say the least. The first week I went through major withdrawals but by week two, I was feeling better than I had in a long time!

One of the things that has been helping me not only in the mornings for breakfast but after my workouts to give my muscles some much needed protein is this cold brew shake. It takes a handful of ingredients and only seconds to make. It's funny because I'm not a coffee drinker at all but there's something about cold brew that brings me joy! I usually drink this for breakfast but if I need an extra boost after my workout, I'll drink it then too.

I hope you give this recipe a try and be sure to let me know what you think!

Cold Brew Protein Shake
3/4 cup Cold Brew (I use this one from Aldi)
1/4 cup Coconut Milk
1/2 Banana
1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (I use this one)
3-4 Ice Cubes
  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
